Let's talk about Air Fryers.
Unless you are living under a rock, I am sure you've heard about the latest kitchen appliance hot item. Enter the Air Fryer. Was I skeptical? Yes. Did I buy one anyway? Yes. I bought it because it seemed that everyone I talked to who owned one couldn't stop raving about how wonderful it was. I will admit, in the first year, I can count on one hand the number of times I used the appliance. It was a little bulkier than most of my small kitchen appliances (though I did get mine in a cool purple color), it couldn't be stored on my counters and it was a pain for me to dig out each time I wanted to use it. So in that first year, the extent of my air fryer usage was mostly frozen french fries and tater tots (note: tots are my husband's second favorite thing....so we have to have them stocked! What's his favorite thing? Me, of course!! LOL). Last year, I was determined to make it the year that I used my air fryer more and even requested two air fryer cookbooks that were recommended to me by a friend for a Christmas gift. I was ready to go! Of course, when you're all ready to go, something inevitably happens to change your plans. Two months in to the new year, we made the decision to move to Georgia. Over the next couple of months, cooking with my air fryer was the last thing on my mind. We were busy selling our townhouse, making trips to Georgia to meet with our builder and then there was that little problem of our house selling before our new home was ready. So in May, we packed up our townhouse, loaded two pods with all of our stuff (not to be seen again for months!) and moved in with my folks for the summer. Alas, the air fryer experiments would have to wait! When we finally moved and our stuff arrived in GA (with over 20 boxes of kitchen appliances and items, I guiltily admit), I was ready! I started trying different things. Pork tenderloin, homemade french fries, even pepper steak! But chicken? That was the one I was still skeptical on. So that brings me to tonight. I am sitting here with a glass of red wine in front of the fireplace. I am hoping that this 42 degree day is the extent of winter in GA. My belly is full. Of what? I'm glad you asked. I used the air fryer tonight to attempt something I usually stay away from cooking unless they're in the smoker. CHICKEN WINGS! What's the verdict? I would do them again! While not quite as crunchy and crispy as real fried wings, these are a close second, with more of a roasted flavor then fried (which is fine by me, as I happen to love roasted chicken wings - if you're ever in Pittsburgh, look up Buffalo Bill's in New Ken! Your stomach will thank you!). I made a Korean sweet n spicy sauce to marinade them in and then tossed them in the sauce again at the end. Oh and that sauce! Did I mention that sauce? DELICIOUS! I will be using the leftover sauce for some chicken thighs next week! The deep flavor from the gochujang paired with the sweetness of the brown sugar and saltiness from the soy - a match made in heaven! Here's what I did:
One of these days I will try true fried chicken in the air fryer but until then...chicken wings for the win!

I think I'm going to try your recipe and do the same thing with my air fryer. I like you have only used it a handful of times and it's always been for mozzarella sticks, french fries Etc. I know it can do a whole heck of a lot more than I tried doing in it.
